Ben Shapiro - Founding Partner

Ben’s experience ranges across private equity, corporate development and business restructuring.

Trained at the Kalchas Group as a Strategy Consultant. Director at NTL Inc. as part of post-bankruptcy restructuring team. Director with Hilco UK and Valco Capital Partners leading multiple restructuring and investment transactions. Ben is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment, CertCFF.

Richard Shonn - Founding Partner

Richard is the founding director of 151 Products and its Managing Director. After several years in the financial services sector, Richard saw an opportunity to assist a new division within the family business.

Since 1998 Richard has built the business into a market leading brand owner and consumer products supplier, trusted by the leading retailers in the UK and beyond.

Chris Oswin - Financial Analyst

Chris has over 10 years’ experience in financial management and analysis, in businesses ranging in size from £3m to £60m turnover and in varying states of profitability.

Chris’s experience at the operational end of finance and cash management ensures a rigorous approach to due diligence and enables him to support the finance teams within our portfolio businesses.

Trevor Millen - Advisory Board Member

Trevor has a long and successful background in international branded and private label consumer goods working his way through marketing and operational roles to general management. His last position was as Divisional Chief Executive and member of the Supervisory Board at Princes, the £2bn European food and beverages subsidiary of the Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation.

Trevor’s background, including his experience as MD at McBride, Europe’s largest distributor of private label household cleaners and personal care products, has enabled him to contribute significantly to b7’s turnaround of Doff Portland.

Peter Folkman - Advisory Board Member

Peter worked for two American high-tech companies before joining the venture capital group 3i plc.

He left 3i in 1989 to set up North of England Ventures raising one of the first regional venture capital funds.The fund was a top performer of its vintage returning over 2.5 times investors cash net of all fees.

The fund had a broad range of investments covering start-ups, growth finance, management buy-outs and restructuring.  Peter holds a number of Non-Executive Director positions including Chair of the Manchester Science Park and The Manchester Technology Fund, and is an Honorary Research Fellow at The University of Manchester.
